Preparing For Family Vacations

To us, family vacations not only build life long memories it also breaks our family away from usual routine and I have also heard that they are also good for your health! One study even found that people return from vacation more relaxed and happier. We have found this to be very true!

With that being said, you need to make sure you prepare for the unexpected—and pack for it, too. With Covid now part of our lifestyles, and way of traveling. Where do we stay, what can we do along the way? Research your destination(s) to see if there are certain guidelines, or rules that must meet a certain criterion for you, or anyone attending the trips with you. Make a list of what you want to do while you’re on vacation and make a loose schedule of what days you want to do them. It doesn’t have to be regimented, just a general idea of what you want to experience and when.

How long should my trip be? You might think that more time away is better, but that’s not always the case. If you stretch your getaway for too long, then you might tire, and nerves may begin to fray. If traveling with family, sometimes there is such a thing as togetherness. So, plan enough time to enjoy your destination and do the activities.

Family vacations are so important! They strengthen family bonds and it also gives your children a chance to learn outside of school. Make sure to take time to do things outside of your comfort zone, don't always just do the activities that you are familiar with. Most of our days are filled with laughter, music, exploration and at the end of each day are hearts are full. I still remember the trips my parents took us on when we were young and I only hope that my children someday will hold the same happy memories from our family vacations. So, get out there and take lots of pictures and make those memories with your family, you won't regret it!
